Progress 3-30-09

In spite of the blizzard and snow, there is progress! It looks worse than before but that's because there are so many tools in the house. Cocoa is a sweet little puppy, not 2 yrs old yet, and she goes to all the job sites and loves attention.

The pictures are backwards! I'll get the hang of this soon.

Top left is the back of the house showing the MBR addition

Next left is the "window door" that was added between the MBR and #2 BR

Next to that on the right is the gutted addition behind the kitchen... this was the 2nd kitchen before

Next to that on the right is the wider opening from the living room/dining area into the kitchen

Last pic is the right side of the house... all the siding was taken off today and the new siding should all be up by the end of the day... we're getting MORE SNOW!!!

You can see the big roll-off dumpster in the driveway.

That's all for now....

You can see the glass door that is the official window in bedroom #2. That's because on the right side of the room a garage was built and the window blocked and on the back wall the master bedroom addition was built and blocked that window. This is the room that will be marketed as a study /office /nursery /baby's room and I think it will work fine.

The BEFORE Story

  The day before everything started. Took pictures of the before mess so that we can see the progress. The pictues are out of order, Just learning!  So you can orient yourself: when you enter the house the living room/dinin area is on the left. Enter the kitchen through the dining area. Go through the kitchen and you are in the addition in the back of the house. Here you'll find another kitchen with a door to the back yard. Turn to your right and you are in the master bedroom addition. This addition appears to have been added at two different times with the master bedroom being the last one. It is all across the back of the house.
The garage used to be a carport at one time. You will see the front bedroom windows in the front that is next to the garage. There is a bedroom behind that room on the back corner of the house.
Because of the garage and the addition in the back, the front bedroom had the side window closed up and the back bedroom had both the side and back window closed up making it a window-less room. When you enter the house and go straight forward, you will see the main bathroom, turn right and the front bedroom is on your right and the back bedroom will be on your left.

Currently the only way into the master bedroom is through the kitchen and back addition.

The kitchen and both bathrooms were completely gutted. The wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed to open it up to the kitchen. The window-less room had a window door put in  that goes into the master bedroom. Now we have light, and an another access to the master bedroom. We will market this room as a 3rd bedroom/study/office/nursery/child's room.  Kinda funky but I think it will work.
